About the Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP)
The Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) is the basin’s roadmap for sustainable groundwater management.
The plan establishes:
- Sustainable management criteria for groundwater levels, storage, water quality, land subsidence, and interconnected surface water
- Monitoring networks used to track basin conditions
- Management actions and projects designed to maintain sustainability
- Reporting and evaluation requirements under SGMA
The GSP is implemented collaboratively by all GSAs in the basin and evaluated regularly to ensure it remains responsive to new data and changing conditions.
