The Sacramento Central Groundwater Authority (SCGA) participates in the implementation of California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) within the South American Subbasin. Groundwater in the basin is managed collaboratively by multiple Groundwater Sustainability Agencies (GSAs) under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
